Fetishes for the Future

"Due to technical difficulties and a lapse in communication, this commission has been over a year in the making. So long, in fact, that by the time the client and I got back to it, I had made a major change to how I was doing my inking. Instead of settling for the inking that had already been done, I decided to re-ink the piece, and put together a comparison shot just like this. It's something I had been curious to see, but I didn't want to struggle with using the old style on something new, and didn't think re-inking an old piece just for the hell of it would be worth the time."

Speaking of technical difficulties, we're still working on a solution for why the boss can't make his own posts on the blog. That's what I'm here for, though! Well, one of the things I'm here for.

So, what do you think? Is the new style as much of an improvement as we've hoped?

  1. Hard to say.
as it was stated in the post there is a 1 year difference between the 2 pictures.
so although they at first glance look alike. the artist still have 1 year of difference in experience between these 2 pictures.
which of-course means that there are some details in the new one that are more well made than the old one.
as for the lines them self. I think that there is a setting in the old one that allows you to decide the width of the line.
which when I look at just the lines (as asked for this post. is realy the only difference I can see between the 2.

Therefore, it is my verdict that if you fiddle a little with the old one, I am shure you could make it look like the new one as well.

    But the real question thou.
Which one of the 2 ways to draw, do you feel is the easiest way for YOU to draw?

    1. Oh the old way was easily exponentially more tedious. I agree that the flaw with the new way is keeping my line width even, something I have to look into options for (or just get better about).
